2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee vs. Chevrolet Blazer

Shopping for a new SUV is exciting! But it can also be a bit overwhelming with so many fantastic options out there. And while there are a dizzying amount of options out there, only one is the most rewarded SUV on the market! The 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee has consistently raised the expectations that consumers have from the SUV market. The Blazer returned to the Chevrolet lineup in 2019 after a 14-year hiatus. The Blazer's sporty appearance is backed up by just 308 horsepower with the most powerful engine option. At Charlie's Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram, we know that choosing an SUV can be very tough. But we want to make it easier for you. This is why we've taken these two incredible SUVs and put them in a head-to-head competition. Continue reading to get an inside look at all the best features!

2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Power & Handling

The 2021 Grand Cherokee is eligible for four different powerful engines. The base engine is a 3.6L V6 that is capable of pushing out 295 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. If you need more power, don't worry! There is also a 5.7L V8 with 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. When putting the Grand Cherokee up against the Blazer, they could've stopped there without adding more power. Jeep isn't known for stopping even when they are ahead, though! That's why they put a 6.4L V8 engine under the hood of the SRT trim! This cranks out a fun 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. The last available engine comes exclusively under the hood of the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. This monster offers more power than the Lamborghini Urus with 707 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque from a supercharged 6.2L V8 Hellcat engine! Rear-wheel drive is standard across most of the Grand Cherokee lineup while four-wheel drive is available to all trim levels. Four-wheel drive comes standard on the off-road-focused Trailhawk and performance-based Trackhawk trims. All four engines are perfectly paired to a smooth sailing 8-speed automatic transmission.

2021 Chevrolet Blazer Power & Handling

While the Grand Cherokee offers four engines, the 2021 Chevy Blazer only offers three. The standard Blazer engine is a 2.4L I4 engine that produces 193 horsepower and 188 lb-ft of torque. You read that right, that's more than 100 less horsepower than the Grand Cherokee's base engine. If that's not enough power, the 2LT and 3LT trims come with a 2.0L turbocharged I4 that cranks out 277 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The last available engine only offered on the highest two trim levels. It's a 3.6L V6 with just 308 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. All Blazer engines are linked to a 9-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is optional on the 2.0L turbocharged I4 variants and comes standard with the V6 engine.
