Electric Jeep Wrangler 4xe to Arrive

Electric Jeep Wrangler 4xe to Arrive

Brought to you by Charlie's Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram

One of the most exciting developments to come out of Jeep in years is finally going to be arriving this model year! Jeep has always been at the forefront of technology and staying ahead of the curve, and with the official announcement of the Jeep Wrangler 4xe, they are further cementing themselves as a progressive brand that is focusing on a greener future. For a brand that revolves around the outdoors, and off-roading adventures, the environment has always been tied closely to all of the vehicles. The Wrangler 4xe is the perfect response to this, and that's why we want to bring you all of the latest information about this vehicle, and what it can do for you! Down below we are going to be going over some of the top reasons why the 4xe is the perfect addition to the Jeep lineup.

What powertrain comes with the 4xe?

We want to get the biggest question out of the way before we continue on with what else the Wrangler 4xe is going to be offering you. The powertrain is the biggest discussion of topic, and we couldn't be more excited to share with you everything Jeep has done to make this powertrain something truly special. This 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine comes with two electric motors, along with a 400-volt battery pack. This enables this configuration to get up to 470 pound-feet of torque and around 375 horsepower. Connected to this engine is an eight-speed automatic transmission that further propels this system into the future. We also want to mention the estimated 50 MPGe that you will likely be getting too, which are numbers that you will love to see, especially on a road trip.

What are the 4xe Selec Modes?

Another huge perk when you get the Wrangler 4xe is that not only is the engine great, but you also get the benefit of three different modes of operation that are called E Selec. You are able to better customize each of your journeys depending on what you need. The first mode is Hybrid, which is the default mode, and works to blend torque from the engine and electric motor. The battery power is used first, with the engine adding in propulsion. The second mode is Electric, where the powertrain only runs on electric power until the battery reaches a minimum charge, or you, the driver, needs more torque. The final mode is eSave, which saves the battery for later use, and focuses on the engine first.

What are some of the off-roading capabilities?

Don't worry everyone, electric power is not taking away any of the capabilities that you know and love about the Wrangler. Instead, the electric motors serve to further propel this SUV forward. You'll still find that this vehicle has skid plates, front and rear tow hooks, available 33-inch tires, up to 30 inches of water fording, an approach angle of 44 degrees, ground clearance of 10.8 inches, and a break over angle of 22.5 degrees.
