Jeep Wrangler vs Ford Bronco

This year Jeep and Ford will go head to head to see which one has the superior SUV. Jeep is roaring back with the latest version of the Wrangler, which is one of the best off-road vehicles around thanks to its multiple powerful engines. The Wrangler also contains a gorgeous looking interior and all the latest technology. Meanwhile, the Bronco bursts on the scene with some exciting powertrains and some excellent off-road equipment. By now you're probably asking, which one is better? For the answer, we are going to compare these two amazing SUVs and see which one reigns supreme!

2020 Jeep Wrangler Power & Handling

Jeep provides the Wrangler with a few fantastic engine options. The first option is a 3.6-liter V6 that makes 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Optional is either a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque or an all-new 3.0-liter turbodiesel that provides drivers with a whopping 442 lb-ft of torque. Going with the V6 gives you the option of either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission while all others get the smooth eight-speed automatic. Finally, there are several four-wheel-drive options available, which include an amazing one for the Rubicon, which allows your Wrangler to drive over about anything!

2021 Ford Bronco Power & Handling

A few engine options are available for the Ford Bronco, and they provide adequate power. Coming standard is a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder that has 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. If you want a tad more power, Ford also equips the Bronco with a twin-turbo 2.7-liter V6 that pumps out 310 horses and 400 lb-ft of torque. Both engines give you the option of either manual or automatic transmission. These numbers are somewhat impressive, but the Ford Bronco does not have a diesel option, so the torque is a bit limited. Also, we are huge fans of the Wranglers four-wheel-drive systems, which is something the Bronco doesn't have.

2020 Jeep Wrangler Features & Design

Three trim levels, several sub-trims, and a few special editions are available for the Jeep Wrangler. Starting things off is the base Sport, which comes with 17-inch steel wheels, skid plates, tow hooks, foglights, a fold-down windshield, and push-button start. Building off the Sport is the Sport S, which adds alloy wheels, air conditioning, automatic headlights, remote locking and unlocking, and heated power mirrors. Higher trims of the Wrangler provide you with even more goodies, including a full-time four-wheel-drive system, leather upholstery, an 8.4-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and more. Need a trim with more off-road prowess? The Rubicon trim has you covered with electronic front and lockable rear differentials, an electronically disconnecting front stabilizer bar, and special tires. Three special editions are available for the Wrangler. The Black and Tan have a limited-slip rear differential, heavy-duty brakes, rails and shocks, while the Willy's and the Freedom come with additional graphics and styles.

2021 Ford Bronco Features & Design

The Ford Bronco comes with a distinct style, and it is certainly not short on technology. Coming standard is Ford's Sync 4 infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and all the latest safety features. There are also a few off-road systems, such as a navigation system that works well when you're out on the trail. You also get strategically placed cameras, which take a lot of the guesswork out of picking the right path. The interior of the Bronco has a distinctly retro feel. There are also strategically placed grab handles that your passengers can use to keep themselves in place while bouncing down a bumpy trail. Optional on all trims are marine-grade vinyl seats that are heated and ventilated. The switches and knobs inside the cabin are easy to use and control things such as Trail Control and Trail Turn Assist.

Conclusion:

While we feel that the Ford Bronco will improve, we are going to give the victory to the Jeep Wrangler. The Wranglers engines are more powerful, and it comes with a lot more off-road features.
