At the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Ram introduced their first-ever battery-electric pickup truck, the Ram 1500 Revolution BEV Concept. The first-ever Ram EV pushes the boundaries of the pickup truck and sets the tone for the future of Ram trucks. While all trucks have a cab and a bed, Ram found a way to take these two basic elements and make them extraordinary with the Ram Revolution. The Revolution is also a testament to Ram's belief that electrification does not have to be a compromise but rather enhance the already impressive trucks. Rather than follow the EV trends, Ram took the electrification of trucks their own way and set the tone for future Ram products. Ram 1500 Revolution Concept Design
When designing the Ram 1500 Revolution BEV Concept, the exterior design team had a goal to revolutionize the pickup truck that we know by making an ultra-modern concept that is environmentally friendly, maintains its purpose, and boasts heroic strength with unabashed confidence. This confidence is clearly shown by the commanding road presence with dramatic lines and a high and wide stance. The Ram 1500 Revolution wears the all-new face of Ram, featuring a modernized and animated RAM badge front and center. Flanking the badge are fully animated LED headlights with a "tuning fork" design. The Revolution features reimagined doors with a saloon-style opening without a B-pillar, showcasing the spacious cabin. LED lights were cleverly integrated throughout the concept truck's exterior on the front bumper flares and badges. With Ram being North America's performance and off-road truck leader, the Revolution Concept features a skid plate integrated with the front fascia and new tow hooks that pivot to sit flush with the bumper. With the absence of an internal combustion engine, the Ram 1500 Revolution features what is now known as a 'frunk' for front trunk with a power-release function. Other powered features include a powered rear step, power flush-mounted door handles, a powered tailgate, a powered charge-port door on the driver's side front quarter panel, and powered side steps.
Interior Design of the Ram 1500 Revolution Concept
With the Ram 1500 Revolution BEV Concept's interior, designers aimed to create a one-space environment, meaning that it uses one continuous space from the front to the rear of the cabin and enables a range of different interior layouts. Whether you need to configure a workspace or need to create more space for an adventure, the Ram 1500 Revolution will allow you to create the cabin you need. The concept truck's interior is more spacious and features more cabin length. These are a result of the new structure in combination with the battery's size which allow for more interior cargo volume. Ram Track, Ram's rail attachment and floor track system provides occupants with flexibility for the console and seats. Additionally, the interior features usable tie-downs and other usable storage features. The frunk and bed also use Ram Track, creating full front to rear flexibility. As an industry-first, the Revolution Concept features third-row jump seats. The powered mid-gate features jump seats mounted to it with a removable lower section, allowing occupants to remove the seat cushion and place it in the trunk or outside the vehicle. The mid-gate features powered glass, which enables a pass-through from the bed to the frunk, taking on objects up to 18 feet long even with the multi-function tailgate closed.
